About Ginevra de Benci
Leonardos only painting in the Americas. The bottom was cut off, removing her hands. The reverse shows a wreath of laurel and palm with a juniper sprig. Juniper is a pun on Ginevras name in Italian. Purchased for 5 million dollars in 1967, a record at the time.
