About Nighthawks

Depicts an all-night diner with no visible entrance. Painted shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The three customers seem isolated despite being together. The diner was inspired by one on Greenwich Avenue in New York. There is no door visible, the characters are trapped. Hoppers wife modeled for the woman.
