A double self-portrait painted during her divorce from Diego Rivera. One Frida wears European dress, the other traditional Mexican. Their hearts are exposed and connected by a vein. The European Frida holds surgical forceps cutting the vein. Painted the year she also painted her most famous self-portrait.
