About Venus of Willendorf

One of the oldest known artworks. Only 11 centimeters tall. The exaggerated features suggest fertility symbolism. Originally painted in red ochre. Found in 1908 in Austria. Named after the goddess Venus but predates the Venus myth by 25,000 years.
