About The Physical Impossibility of Death
A 4.3 meter tiger shark preserved in formaldehyde. The original shark began to rot and was replaced in 2006. Sold to Steven Cohen for 8 million dollars. The title refers to the impossibility of representing death. Hirst claimed the work is about death being impossible to understand.
