About The Death of Marat
A propaganda painting of the murdered revolutionary leader. Marat was assassinated in his bath by Charlotte Corday. David was a close friend of Marat and a fellow revolutionary. The letter in his hand is from his killer requesting a meeting. Painted just 4 months before David himself was imprisoned.
