About Guernica
Created in response to the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Painted in just 35 days. Measures 3.49 x 7.77 meters. Picasso refused to let it enter Spain until democracy was restored. It was housed at MoMA in New York for decades. No color except black, white, and gray to convey the horror.
