About Les Demoiselles dAvignon
The painting that launched Cubism and modern art. Depicts five nude prostitutes from a Barcelona street. The faces on the right were inspired by African masks. Picasso kept it in his studio for years, too radical to show. Originally titled The Brothel of Avignon. Even his closest friends were shocked.
