About The Four Horses of St Mark
Originally part of a quadriga, a four-horse chariot team. Looted from Constantinople during the Fourth Crusade in 1204. Napoleon took them to Paris in 1797, returned in 1815. The originals are now inside, replicas are on the basilica facade. Made using a lost-wax casting technique.
