About The Jewish Bride
Not actually a Jewish bride, the title was given later. The couple may be Isaac and Rebekah. The paint is applied so thickly it is almost sculpture. Van Gogh said he would give ten years of his life to sit before it for two weeks. The tenderness is extraordinary.
