About The Return of the Prodigal Son

One of Rembrandts last paintings, completed the year he died. The fathers hands are different: one masculine, one feminine, representing universal parental love. The elder brothers resentment is visible in the background. Rembrandt was bankrupt and destitute when he painted it.
